This month’s club spotlight goes to Ramapo’s Healthcare Club, run by juniors Isabella Lauretta and Ellie Kim. The Healthcare Club is a student-run organization where students can openly discuss important health topics in the community and raise awareness.
The club creates monthly posters to educate others about issues such as nutrition, mental health, and disease prevention. While doing so, the club organizes events like card-making and fundraisers, like the blood drive. The blood drive was a recent success after partnering with a neighboring club, the Red Cross club.
Through these activities, they hope to advocate for students to develop healthier lifestyles by maintaining healthy habits and community involvement. The Healthcare Club takes pride in spreading knowledge and providing opportunities for students to make a positive impact on health.
Lauretta comments, “The healthcare club is a great asset to the RHS community because it keeps students informed about current events in healthcare while also creating a welcoming space for those interested in pursuing careers in medicine or health-related fields.”
Mrs. Elias talks about the club, “Healthcare Club has really come back to life this year, with consistent meetings, new events, and the return of initiatives like our blood drive. It’s been great to see students so engaged in exploring healthcare and making a positive impact here at Ramapo!”
Looking ahead, the Healthcare Club plans to expand its outreach by continuing its monthly awareness campaigns and hosting additional donation drives and fun events! Students interested in joining and participating in events are encouraged to reach out to the club presidents or the club advisor via the club’s Instagram: @rhshealthcareclub.
