Among the many accomplished student-athletes at Ramapo, senior Brendan Gold has built a reputation as one of the school’s most dedicated and hardworking athletes. Playing both hockey and lacrosse, Gold has proven time and again that he is an extremely talented player who performs under pressure.
On the lacrosse field, Gold has been one of the key leaders and captains of the Raiders program during a highly successful season. For the last three seasons, he has been there starting lefty attackmen, scoring a combined 67 goals in his sophomore and junior years. As of the end of the regular season this year, he has 46 goals and counting. Throughout the season, Gold has delivered in big moments and played a major role in helping Ramapo compete among the top lacrosse programs in New Jersey (NJ.com).
The biggest highlight of Gold’s season so far came on March 26th, as Ramapo beat Pascack Valley 15-2. Gold lit up the scoreboard with 6 goals, 1 assist, and 2 ground balls. Beyond the statistics, Gold’s leadership stood out just as much as his production. Additionally, on May 5th, he scored his 100th goal against St. Joseph’s in the 1st round of the Bergen County tournament. It is because of milestones like this that coaches and teammates praise his competitive mentality and his willingness to push his team day in and day out. (NJ.com). When we asked his teammate Cole Seyffer about Gold’s leadership, he said the following: “I’ve known Gold for a while and really have seen him develop as a leader and a lacrosse player. He is never afraid to step up and be a leader within the team, even when things get tough.”
Similarly, coach Harvey answered with this about Gold, “I am very proud of Brendan’s development over his four years at Ramapo. As a player, he is one of the most dynamic offensive players in the state, but more importantly, he wants to see his teammates succeed and provide them with feedback, bring positive energy, and have a love for the game.”
Gold’s success has also extended beyond high school lacrosse through his club career with Mad Dog National, one of the most premier club programs in the country. Competing against elite national competition, Gold played for both Mad Dog National 2026 Gold and Mad Dog National 2026 Black throughout his recruiting career. His team posted strong records, including a 14-3 mark with Mad Dog National Black in 2023 and a 9-11 record with Mad Dog National Gold in 2025. Playing on the national circuit gave Gold the opportunity to compete in high-level showcases and against many of the top recruits in the country, helping elevate his game and attract attention from college coaches (Insidelacrosse.com).
In addition to lacrosse, Gold also excels on the ice rink as a member of the Ramapo varsity hockey team. This past season, Gold scored 4 goals and 11 assists while playing both defense and forward. Like lacrosse, he has also earned three varsity letters for hockey. While balancing the demands of both sports, Gold has also shown extreme rigor in the classroom, maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout high school. His ability to succeed in multiple sports showcased not only his athleticism but also the discipline and work ethic that made him a leader within Ramapo athletic programs (NJ.com). “Both these sports programs at Ramapo taught me so much about myself as a student athlete, and I am grateful for my time being a part of it,” said Gold when asked about his time with Ramapo athletics.
His performances on both the high school and club lacrosse levels ultimately earned him the opportunity to continue his lacrosse career at Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. He will major in business and play lacrosse at the collegiate level. Babson’s coaching staff officially welcomed Gold to its 2030 recruiting class, recognizing the left-handed attackman for the skill and experience he developed at Ramapo and with Mad Dog National.
Beyond the statistics and accomplishments, Gold will be remembered for the energy and leadership he brought to his teams every day. Whether on the lacrosse field or the hockey rink, he represented Ramapo with pride and left behind a lasting impact on the Raiders community.
