The long awaited third season of one of HBO’s top-charting series Euphoria was released on April 12th of this year, featuring an older set of characters and a stylish cast that rocked the red carpet.
The premiere took place on the release date of the third season in the famous Coachella Valley. The anticipated premier gained 8.5 million views, waging a 44% increase from the previous premiere four years ago (The Hollywood Reporter). The four year gap was taken into account within the storyline of the show as it featured a five year jump for the characters. Season 2 ended with the cast still being in high school and struggling with dramatic and complicated issues such as drug addiction and abusive relationships.
The world of addiction, abuse, and secrecy remains central in the third season, now unfolding in the characters’ young adult years, where an older yet similarly naïve cast navigates the same complexities. Senior Emily Rolla has been watching the show since its second season released in 2022. When asked her opinion about the new season, Emily stated enthusiastically, “I’m excited to see how Nate and Cassie’s relationship progresses this season. I remember there was a lot of drama when Cassie started dating Nate after he and Maddie had broken up, so I hope the show references that.” The Nate and Cassie storyline gained plenty of media attention when the last season was released, and fans are certainly looking forward to the drama returning to the big screen.
It’s not only the characters who have gained adoration from the fans; the actors have also become widely admired and closely followed. Senior Ella Petreveski stated, “I’m excited to watch the new season of Euphoria for Jacob Elordi. He’s been in a lot of projects recently and I’m excited to see him back in Euphoria.”
Whether it’s the dramatic storyline, or the adored actors, fans cannot get enough of Euphoria!
