The Summer I Turned Pretty concluded their third and final season on September 17th, 2025. The show of the summer has left fans eagerly awaiting a new episode every Wednesday—while also stirring up controversy on TikTok and other social media platforms. Team Jeremiah vs. Team Conrad has created a massive divide all over the internet, trying to prove to one another who was right for the main character, Belly. Viewers were disappointed when their weekly rituals had seemed to come to an end. However, Jenny Han can’t keep her audience on their toes for too long! It is now confirmed that there will be a movie coming out, continuing the love story of Belly and the Fisher Brothers.
Belly seemed to make her decision in the final episode, though many of the viewers still felt that the show ended on too much of a cliffhanger. Luckily for her fans, Jenny Han felt the same way, stating in an article with Elle Magazine, “I thought only a movie could give [the conclusion] its proper due. I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.” Han still has unfinished business when it comes to this story. She believes the only way to do the series justice is by ending it with a movie.
Although there is no release date just yet, the excitement is already stirring among fans. A current sophomore at Ramapo, Sara Cays, who watched the show this past summer, said, “I am curious to know what more there is to tell about their story, and I am excited to find out.” Another student here at Ramapo, Amelia Remo, says, “I think that I would like this to end on a happy ending, and I’m scared to see if there are any bad things that will happen that could potentially ruin relationships.” Although most viewers are excited about the movie, some believe that their story has come to an end and should no longer be continued. Regardless, this announcement leads fans to further question the important milestones left in Belly’s life.
There have already been conspiracy theories coming out about what will be included in this movie. Some say another wedding could happen, or even a possible pregnancy! Although others believe that this movie is to display Belly’s growth and maturity, with the last episodes laying out clear signs that she is no longer a teenage girl, but a maturing young woman.
Whatever this movie may bring, it will surely stand as a final goodbye to these characters that the fans fell in love with in season one.
