Benson Boone is a twenty-three-year-old pop-rock singer who is currently on his American Heart Tour. He made his debut on American Idol in 2021 after rising to fame on TikTok. According to Grammy.com, in a recent MTV interview, Boone said, “It’s just like I unlocked something I didn’t know I had”. He also stated that he never knew his passion for singing, and that being a musical artist was never in the picture for him. His first hit song was his single he released in 2021, “Ghost Town,” which topped the charts mostly in Europe, but also reached some platforms in the States. He then came up with his breakthrough hit, “Beautiful Things,” which made him achieve his first #1 Billboard for Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart on March 29 (billboard.com). After his big breakthrough, the world saw more and more of Benson Boone. He performed on June 23, 2024, at London’s Wembley Stadium for The Eras Tour, and then later in December he performed at the 2024 iHeart Radio show Jingle Ball. With all of the new opportunities for Boone, he announced his American Heart World Tour on May 5th, 2025.
Many staff and students throughout Ramapo know about Benson Boone and his “Flipping” tactics during his shows. Benson Boone is known for his acrobatics and has done flips during talk shows, concerts, and even during different meet-and-greets. Many kids and adults love Benson Boone because he produces a wide range of music and entertainment for all ages. An English teacher at Ramapo, Mrs. Manzo comments, “I love to go to concerts. Actually, I try to go to at least one live performance a month. I wanted to go to Benson Boone, but the timing did not work out for me and my daughter. However, one of our friends went and said that it was such a fun concert; he does flips on stage and makes it a really fun experience for the audience. that
he’s great for younger kids because his songs are more “PG” in comparison to other popular artists”.
Benson Boone has a segment of his show where he does a “surprise song,” which is when he chooses a song that isn’t his own and sings it just for that night. He announces the song by bringing out a T-shirt cannon, which he deploys in the crowd, and once the T-shirt gets caught, the shirt has his signature and the name of the song he will be performing. The lucky recipient is able to keep the shirt. The surprise song that was performed at MSG was “Sign of the Times” by Harry Styles. A Sophomore here at Ramapo, Sofia Vidac, went to the concert at Madison Square Garden on Friday, September 5, 2025. She commented, “At my dance studio a dance from last year was Sign of The Times, and seeing him perform it live was so cool. It also was one of my favorite songs in middle school. I went to the concert with one of my closest friends. We had so much fun, and even got to stand in the pit! Coolest concert I have ever been to.”
Benson Boone has spread so much music and joy across the world. He is deeply connected with his fans and will continue to write his music for all ages to enjoy.
