Ramapo’s JV girls’ soccer team finished its incredible 2025 season as County Co-Champions. Despite starting the year with a fairly new team and several freshmen added to the roster, the team quickly found its chemistry and lived up to their motto: “Not just a team—a family,”.
Lexi Dobish shared, “I was excited for the season even though I was coming back from surgery and a torn ankle injury. The team pulled together and supported each other the whole way.”
The team earned its first victory in the quarterfinals of the County tournament. After losing to Immaculate Heart Academy (IHA) earlier in the season, Ramapo came back and shut them out 5-0 to advance to the next round. The semifinals were just as impressive; Ramapo defeated the top-seeded team, Ridgewood, 4-0, a team they had struggled against at the start of the year. From September 17th through the county final, Ramapo scored 55 goals and conceded zero, showcasing their strong offense and impenetrable defense.
The county final against Northern Highlands was a hard-fought match that went into double overtime. With neither team scoring, Ramapo finished as Co-Champions, a result that reflects the grit and determination of both teams and their players. By the end of the season, the team had scored 60 goals and allowed only six across all games.
One of the captains, junior Lexi Dobish, pointed out the contributions of several freshmen, including Gianna Topolski, Angelina Padilla, Zara Ronnau, and Lindsay Samala. Zara made a substantial impact on defense, Angelina excelled in both midfield and forward positions, and Lindsay, who had recovered from a broken foot earlier in the season, helped the team push through key games. The team also credited Coach Livesey and captains Emma Arnold, Lexi Dobish, and Alyssa Gobuzas for keeping everyone focused and united.
Coach Livesey gave the following message to the girls on the team: “This was a fantastic season. This talented team has a bright future ahead of them in the Ramapo soccer program. Most importantly, they worked together, supported one another, and achieved their goal of winning the county championship. I couldn’t be more proud of this group and the dedication they showed all season long.”
Overall, with strong leadership, new talent, and a family-oriented culture, Ramapo JV girls soccer once again proved why its program remains one of the best in the county.
