Dear Rampage,
I am honored to have had the opportunity to be one of your Editor-in-Chiefs this year. When I looked at our staff at our very first meeting in September, I knew it would be a successful year. Each and every one of you dedicated your time and effort into making our school newspaper remarkable. This club’s purpose goes beyond just writing and editing articles. It brings a sense of community to Ramapo. I hope you all get the same fulfillment I do when you see your friends reading through the paper that you helped create.
Each role in Rampage is equally as important, and the paper certainly would not get published without all of your contributions. I want to thank our Assistant Editors – Aubrey Kwon, Caroline McDermott, and Zooey Zhou – for not only their vital role in the editing process but for writing multiple (sometimes up to three) articles each month. Our Assistant Editors act as the backbone of Rampage’s efficiency and success, and these girls went above and beyond this year.
Additionally, I want to thank our Online Editor Lana Jepsen and our Social Media Manager Maryam Abdel-Wahab for managing Rampage’s digital platforms and website! There is no one that could have fulfilled these roles better than Lana and Maryam. From developing new creative ideas for the club, to bringing positive energy to every single meeting, Lana and Maryam outdid themselves. I know they will continue to have a profound impact on Rampage next year.
Next, I would like to thank our Editors, Emma Ufakacar (News Editor), Ina Nip (Life Editor), Rachel LeMoult (Entertainment Editor), and McKenna Houston (Sports Editor). There wasn’t a doubt in my mind that I could count on these girls. I could not have asked for a more responsible and dedicated group of editors to work with this year. Thank you for all that you’ve done!
This letter would not be complete without a huge thank you to my Co-Editor-in-Chief, Victoria Acunto. Victoria is one of the most dependable and hardworking people I know. I’m not sure how I would have gotten through this year without her. Having a friend by my side to work on layout, edit articles, and run meetings made this experience so much fun. I know you will do amazing things in college.
To Mrs. Casey, one of our wonderful club advisors, I want to thank you for all that you’ve done for this club. I don’t know how we would stay organized and on top of things without you. You are the unsung hero to Rampage’s chaos.
Finally, I would like to thank Mrs. Manzo, our club advisor and my teacher. I am privileged to have been mentored by you over the past four years. You are someone who truly cares about her students and is willing to work with them to make them successful. Your leadership in Rampage is unmatched and has inspired me to pursue a career in journalism. My high school experience would not have been the same without you, Mrs. Manzo!
If you are someone looking for a club at Ramapo to join, I cannot provide a more passionate recommendation than Rampage. Not only will you become a part of a tight-knit group of students who share the same interests, but you will meet countless new people within Ramapo and within our community. Each year, our school newspaper improves more and more. It has been fascinating to watch and be a part of since my freshman year. Thank you, Rampage, for this wonderful experience!
Sincerely,
Your Co-Editor-in-Chief,
Savannah DeFino
