This year, we were met with hundreds of brilliant students with extraordinary minds, unimaginable creativity, and hard work displayed by the Class of 2025—one who stood out, however, was this year’s Salutatorian: Hudson Beauchamp. Not only was he the second-highest ranked in the entire Class of 2025, but Beauchamp also has a highly successful sports career, receiving awards such as the Dive Against Debris certification for diving, and the State Sectional Group Championships for basketball.
Beauchamp’s sports career doesn’t end there; not only does he have an interest in scuba diving and basketball, but he also does rock climbing. Beauchamp “highly recommend[s] getting scuba certified and joining a climbing gym, they are some of the most welcoming and inspiring people I have met.”
Role models are essential for the success of every student. Beauchamp, in particular, says that his role models are his parents. He says, “They have worked for all they have achieved, and I look to them as examples of how I would like to live my life as an individual, friend, partner, and parent. I owe them everything.” Beauchamp credits his current success to his strong support system, including his parents, friends, and girlfriend, and he emphasizes the importance of taking life one day at a time.
As the year progresses, the seniors of 2025 will return to being freshmen, and the juniors will move up the ranks in Ramapo to fill the shoes of this year’s seniors. When asked if there was any advice Beauchamp could give, he says: “Obviously, there is no magic piece of advice, but I would say to work hard and take advantage of the opportunities you are given at Ramapo, but don’t forget that you are still a kid. Enjoy high school and try to make time for everything– live a balanced life.”After Ramapo, Beauchamp will attend the University of Notre Dame and major in Computational Mathematics and Statistics.
As Hudson embarks on a new chapter at Notre Dame, his educational journey is a testament to the power of dedication, passion, and the support of a strong community. Sabine Kolkas, another Ramapo senior, says, “Hudson is one of the most hardworking people I know. I’m convinced he has a gold medal in studying.” His achievements in academics and sports reflect a well-rounded individual who excels and encourages others to pursue their dreams while maintaining a balanced lifestyle. His teacher, Ms. Schwarz, praises him, “Hudson listens with the intensity of someone who is determined to master any challenge ahead. He is endearing to both teachers and fellow peers who want to soak up the enthusiasm for life that he exudes.”
The Class of 2025 leaves behind a legacy of resilience and creativity, and as they step into the future, they carry the valuable lessons learned during their time at Ramapo. Beauchamp’s story encourages all students to strive for excellence, embrace challenges, and cherish their youth. As they move forward, may they continue to inspire one another and make their mark, both in and out of the classroom. With Hudson leading the way as this year’s Salutatorian, there is no doubt that the students of Ramapo will continue to shine brightly in the years to come.
