This year, one club that has really made its mark is SWell! SWell is Ramapo’s student health and wellness club that organizes wellness activities and student outreach events to empower students to look after their wellness. They also aim to promote a culture of wellness in our community here at Po! From free five dollar Dunkin’ Donuts gift cards at lunch, to glow in the dark yoga after school, they have really given this school year an awesome start!
Ms. Robinson is the advisor for the club and has worked in the RIH district for the past sixteen years. This July she recently started her new position as the District Supervisor of Wellness and Special Programs and travels between Po and Hills during the week. When asked why wellness is important for high school students, Ms. Robinson explained, “Wellness is especially crucial for high school students as they navigate academic pressures, social dynamics, and personal growth. Prioritizing wellness helps students manage stress, improve focus, and foster stronger connections with their peers.” Ms. Robinson also adds, “When students feel balanced and supported, they are better positioned to reach their full potential, not just academically, but in all aspects of their lives.”
SWell is bringing all the good vibes that we need this school year, and students are loving it! Senior Cadie Sauter shares, “I think that the Swell activities have been really fun for everyone at school. School can be stressful sometimes, especially at the end of a marking period and their activities during lunch periods have helped to relieve the stress.” And of course she could not go without saying, “I especially liked the Dunkin gift card!”
Ms. Robinson expresses her gratitude by sharing, “I am genuinely thankful that each day I get the opportunity to work with students and create wellness events that aim to positively impact the culture of wellness throughout the school community.”
Po can’t wait for what SWell has in store for the rest of the year, keep up the amazing work!
