Senior year is something that all students wait for, and so far, the class of 2024 has gone above and beyond to make this year a success.
For starters, many of the senior girls began their school year with a tradition that has dated back years. They decorated their cars with different sayings, colors, and designs to show their school and class pride. They wrote things such as, “Go Po,” “Senior Season,” and “Respect your Elders” as a way to show others around town that the 2024 seniors are here and ready for their final year.
Not only have there been some crazy cars driving around the FLOW area, but when you step inside the school the seniors show their student pride by prancing around the halls with childlike backpacks. These backpacks are covered in different colors, characters, and even sparkles. This is a theme that has caught on during the last several years. When talking to one senior girl, she says that it is a sign of childhood and the seniors feel as though it is their last shot to be a child before they are off to college. So, if you want to spot a senior, look for a crazy backpack with Peppa Pig, Scooby Doo, SpongBob, the Princesses or Minecraft on it.
These seniors aren’t all about themselves either. They seem to be everywhere, from supporting school sports games to major involvement in school clubs. We have had a tremendous turn out at many of our games and extracurriculars! The school spirit at the games is off the charts. One Ramapo senior, Leah Ansh says, “I am excited to continue doing many different senior activities and I am hoping to make the best of my last year here. I love the pride our senior class has and I am hoping it continues.” The seniors have been doing all they can to cheer on as many of their friends and peers as possible. This includes beating Highlands on their home turf when all of them came out to support our team and show how much of an impact our Senior spirit has. Ramapo teacher Mrs. Shaara said, “The 2024 Seniors epitomize leadership & strength! They have received the knowledge and guidance from the faculty here at Ramapo & the coaching staff that will help them succeed outside of high school. Their PO pride will surely be missed.” Ramapo’s senior class takes pride in not only our school but our grade and the people around us.
The 2024 seniors are continuing to make the best out of their last year. From supporting their class, to going all out and making sure the town knows that these seniors came here to get loud. They have many exciting upcoming events in the future of this school year from senior sunrise, to an exciting prom at the end of the year. They are thrilled to take this last year and make it the best one they possibly can.
